Pax - Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel was unexpectadly awesome! Instead of day-old bagels and cereal, we had "do-it-yourself" waffles and an omelets. It was a great thing to
look forward to every morning, besides the actual show of course.

Things that we needed to accomplish for Friday:
  • Setup booth
  • Microsoft Meeting
  • Nintendo Meeting
  • Setup booth
  • Visit Gastronaut Studios

We arrived at the convention center at 7AM. The first thing we noticed, as we arrived at our booth in the morning, was a very large Hummer parked about 2 feet in front of our booth. We were hoping it would be moved before the doors opened, unfortunately it was there to stay for the whole show.

Tom built the Ikea shelves while Emil and John set-up the pod and the backwall.

  • We only had two hours before we needed to leave for pre-arranged meetings with Microsoft and Nintendo. Then it was back to the show to finish setting up. Might I add that Tom's rock star jump is not only awesome, but consistent as hell, as you will see in the pictures to come.

Amazingly enough, we finished setting up without ever having to make an emergency run to Home Depot. The PAX exhibition team then treated all the exhibitors to a great buffet dinner and drinks. After a quick snack we finished the final touches on the booth and had it all setup. This was the first time we have used this configuration for any of our booths and we were all very pleased with the end result.

So we were off to Gastronaut Studios where our friends Jake and Don were just finishing a fresh build of their new XBLA game Small Arms Their small office gave us a weird sense of deja-vu for our own off-the-beaten-track studio. About the same size as our own studio and located off a back alley in Seattle, we felt right at home. After a quick tour of the studio we all went out to dinner and drinks, and to wait for Billie to arrive from the airport.
