Thursday is opening day for Comic-Con, this means basically nothing to exhibitors since everyday is the same for us. Wake up before the crack of dawn, park the cars/vans/trucks near the convention center, go to your booth, freeze your butt off because the AC has been on all night, work for about 9 hours, rinse and repeat. Throw in the occasional overrweight guy in the Spiderman costume and you have yourself a Comic-Con. Here is Tom smiling, doesn't he look happy ?
Our friend Ricardo (from Gamespot) stopped by our booth to insult us and lower our collective self-esteem (2008 we promise!). Actually, Ricardo had just come back from Japan, and was gracious enough to pick up a few gifts, thanks Ricardo! (no pictures of his presents though, oops)
Here is our little white table in use, we may have not been able to sell this guy anything if that table hadn't been cut in half the night before, thanks again John! (note the gaffers tape holding the table together, i love you gaffers tape!)
To celebrate the 5th year anniversary, we decided to put our Alien Hominid in a tuxedo. Here we have Billie grabbing his costume from the parking lot and making his journey back into the pit of the convention floor.
With the Alien Hominid head safely at the booth, and a quick change into his tux, Billie was ready for some Alien Hominid tuxedo action!
Taking pictures with the Alien, selling merchandise, an entire family painted in green, it's all part of the opening day of Comic-Con. 2 days down, 3 more to go!
