Bright and early Tueday morning we roll into the convention center to check out our booth space. We had orginally wanted a 20X20 peninsula booth, but with the huge increase in exhibitors this year, we had our booth size downgraded.
The big exhibitors, like Square Enix and Activision were able to setup on Monday. However, small exhibitors like us had to wait until Tuesday to setup.
All morning long we were dodging forklifts, crates, and the union (and the Man!) as we hand carried all of our exhibition materials from the parking lot, which is across the street from the convention center.
The union work regulations gave us exactly thirty minutes to build our booth without using power tools. Otherwise, we would be charged 100/hr for someone to watch us work. As it was we ended up paying $200.00 dollars to have one power outlet moved. Total union working time, 10 minutes, yay!
